Abrau-Durso
At Abrau-Durso, near Novorossiysk, limestone dominates the soils, and large stones are the second key component: they heat up in the day and give the warmth back to the soil. The estate counts 320 sunny days a year.1
The first sparkling wines aged in the estate's mountain tunnels appeared in 1896.1 The method is described on the traditional method page.
Taman
In southern Taman, salts migrate into vineyard soils from slopes of saline marine clays, and the soils are heavy in texture.2 Rkatsiteli is among the grapes grown here.3
The profile above shows Abrau-Durso only. A Kuban page with vineyard area and the full list of grapes will appear once we find an official source for them.
